Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Jon Adams, trading as Adava Studio ("we", "us"), for using DoneUp. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use DoneUp.

The service

DoneUp helps a family agree chores, keep a record of what each kid has earned, and hand over rewards. Grown-ups sign in with Apple or Google. Kids join on their own phone with an invite from a grown-up and don't need an account.

You must be an adult (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. The person who sets up a family is responsible for the kids and grown-ups they invite, and for making sure kids use DoneUp with a parent's or guardian's permission.

The family plan

DoneUp needs a family plan, paid monthly or yearly by the grown-up who sets up the family. Kids and invited grown-ups don't pay. The plan costs $4.99 a month or $44.99 a year in the United States, or the local price shown in the app and the store before you buy.

New subscribers may get a 7-day free trial. Apple or Google asks for a payment method when the trial starts, and charges nothing until it ends. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you won't be charged.

The plan renews automatically at the price shown, at the end of each month or year, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment, renewals, cancelling and refunds are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their terms. To cancel, go to your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel the subscription.

We may change prices. If we do, Apple or Google will tell you before the new price applies, and you can cancel.

Refer a friend

When a new family enters your code and sets up their home with an active plan or free trial, you both get a month (30 days) of the family plan free. A code can only be used by a new family, once, and one account can earn at most 12 free months from referrals. We may change or end the offer, and we may refuse free months that come from misuse.

Money in the app is a record

Balances, earnings, penalties and rewards in DoneUp are a record your family keeps. DoneUp doesn't hold, send or pay out real money, and a balance isn't a bank account, a deposit or a promise from us to pay anything.

Grown-ups hand over rewards themselves, such as cash, a gift card code, a day out or screen time. Leaderboard prizes are set and given by grown-ups too. We aren't responsible for rewards or prizes a family agrees.

Screen time

Screen time in DoneUp is tracking only. It does not lock or control your device, and it doesn't limit other apps.

Acceptable use

Use DoneUp only for your family, and follow the law. Don't try to get into another family's data, break or overload the service, copy or resell the app, or use it to upload anything unlawful, harmful or that you don't have the right to share.

You're responsible for what you and the people you invite put into the app, such as names, notes, links and pictures.

Your content

What your family puts into DoneUp stays yours. You give us permission to store and show it to the people in your family only as needed to run the app. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle it.

Ending your use

You can stop using DoneUp and delete your account at any time in the app: Family and account, then Delete my account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. If we stop offering DoneUp, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.

Disclaimers

We work hard to keep DoneUp running and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Keep your own note of anything important, such as money you owe your kids.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or unexpected losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for DoneUp in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law says can't be limited.

Apple and Google

These terms are between you and Jon Adams, trading as Adava Studio, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren't responsible for DoneUp or its support. If you got DoneUp from the App Store, Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement governs your licence to use the app, and these terms add to it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app before an important change applies. If you keep using DoneUp after that, the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law where you live.
